Google is really a genius. It has helped my blogging life a lot. No I am not talking about blogspot but Google Docs. I can’t believe how useful it has been for me. From making a sign up form to compiling everything in a spreadsheet I don’t have to do anything at all.
When I started BC Bloggers I didn’t know it was going to be this big. We’re now on our fourth batch and to date there has been more than 500 blogs signing up. Although I was happy it was such a huge success organizing everything has given me nightmares. Imagine hundreds of bloggers emailing me their blogs. I have to copy and paste everything, answer all their queries, manually check if the links they have given are A-Ok. I didn’t know how I survived without an assistant back then.
Now, I still don’t have an assistant but I am sleeping more soundly than ever. While I am off to dreamland, Google Doc is awake 24/7 receiving all the entries and compiling them into a neat spreadsheet. I don’t receive that many questions any more because everything is explained in the sign up sheet courtesy of, of course, who else but Google Docs.
Google Docs is really a neat invention. It’s so simple yet it makes so much sense. I wonder why nobody has ever thought about doing it before.
