One thing that I love being married to a musician is I get to go to places I wouldn’t normally go. Like the picture above. It was taken at a music studio at Cubao. Musicians rent these studios so they can practice their music without noise. Normally, my hubby and his band mates would be there for two hours.
So while they are getting creative with their music I do everything I fancy. I remember that time I had my overdue manicure and pedicure at a nearby salon. Another time I got to read a book at a bookstore ( the last time I did that was years ago!).
Since their session doesn’t last too long I don’t get bored. After we would be going on a date! Hubby would be grateful that I accompanied him and I get to eat anywhere I want. This simple pleasures makes me happy. I love my being married to my husband and it’s just a bonus he’s a musician.
As I’m typing this away I’m watching my kids sleeping in our king sized bed. I thought that getting a bed this big was the biggest decision we had since I gave birth to our youngest. It was and for a while. I even bought some body pillows because we had some extra space. We were so ecstatic that we had so much space. That was a few months ago and now it doesn’t feel that way anymore. My youngest grew up so fast that before we know it we were back to the same old situation again.

My hubby even had the same thoughts. He remarked how pretty soon our kids should have their own beds. I’m still relishing the fact that they are my babies and they love sleeping in the same room as us because I know soon they would like their own space. But I am resigned to the fact that they’ll grow up soon and we can’t keep upgrading our beds just so we would fit there! haha
We are pretty excited this coming Christmas season. It will be the first time we have our little Zack with us – actually, it is the second time already but last year doesn’t count because he was only three weeks old. We kind of missed last year’s Christmas because of our newborn but now that he’ll be a year old this December I am positive we’ll have a blast! We have lots of activities to attend and lots of parties too. I can’t wait to send out of Christmas photo cards which I have neglected during the past years. We might have our own DSLR before Christmas so we can shoot our own photo but we can also take advantage of the photo booth discounts at the mall.
After Christmas we would then start preparing for my beloved husband’s birthday. This time I will have to overcome my fear of cooking and try to cook a small feast for our friends so wish me luck! A few weeks after that would be my first born son’s birthday and we’ll be off to Bohol for that. We are so excited because this is our first family vacation and the first time our children will see the beach and ride a plane.
Shopping Spree ...
That’s what we did yesterday. My husband was complaining for so long with his old clothes. I also wanted to update my wardrobe since I grew one size larger ever since Zack was born. So after buying the kids their clothes last week we decided it was our time to buy ours.
Our destination was Market! Market! Although we didn’t know it we were delighted to find out they were having a sale and yesterday was their last day. They had lots of clothes in their department store but what I like most are their clothes at the small stalls. I’m amazed at the variety of clothes they have over there. I’m sure if I look hard enough I can even find some equestrian clothing.
For our shopping spree we bought clothes for ourselves. I bought some tops and jeans and shoes but my favorite purchase is the hair straightening iron. It was quite expensive because it has titanium plate and not ceramic but I know it’s worth it. I bought one with ceramic plate before but I ended up giving it to my brother-in-law because it suits his short hair more. I couldn’t really use it with my long hair.
My husband bought some polo shirts too but his favorite are his brand new Levi’s jeans. It’s more expensive than the Lee brand but I know he’s more comfortable with the Levi’s fit.
Shopping is fun but tiring. I was still short of one white blouse that I would be using for our first anniversary but I was too tired so we just went home without buying one. Anyway, that gives me one more excuse to go back to the mall for another shopping trip. hahaha!
Good Old Days ...
I remember the good old days when we were still not married. Our favorite hobby was playing Ragnarok online. We levelled up together and even joined ragnarok events. Aside from playing games, we also like hanging out with my now father-in-law. Since we don’t have money then he would treat us and take us to different places (he still does it now. LOL!).He has a house at Sta.Rosa and we would sleepover there. For sports, they would play table tennis at his newgy table tennis. I would watch them play while eating home cooked meals prepared by his aunt and grandmother who are all a good cook. Now that we are married, we still like to spend some time there once in a while. The difference now is instead of just us we now have a brood to bring over.
Now that we have our son enrolled to a Home School program, we experienced first hand the advantages of studying in the comfort of our own home. And it got me thinking, maybe I should check the various online universities available and study at home myself! With the many options – I can get additional skills that I need. I specially would love to learn more about website programming and design, or internet marketing and SEO! This is really something that I should seriously consider.
Pain in my Hand ...
Earlier this week, I woke up with a pain in my thumb. I can not move it the way I used to. I suspect it is because of my poor working habits. Working online means I have to use the computer a lot. It is easier compared to physical labor since all I have to do is type with my fingers and click the mouse. But overdoing it can be bad and now I am suffering the consequence.
So now I am limiting the use of my right hand. As a temporary remedy I made a makeshift hand splint to restrict its movement. Now I wonder if I can apply for social security disability or some sort of compensation because my present situation limits me in a lot of ways. On second thought maybe not. I am still thankful I can use my other hand but if the pain does not go away in a few days I will be going to my doctor.
Our Dear Friends ...
One of the things that I like about living at my hubby’s hometown is that we’re closer to our friends. One of our dearest friends and also our churchmate are practically newlyweds. They are still interested on how to care for your engagement ring articles but when their baby comes out I know they would be engrossed on how to take care of your baby articles as well.
They love our kids like their own as you can see in the picture. That’s one half of the couple and our eldest son’s godfather as well. He and my hubby has been friends for a long time. I am glad that we have friends nearby. It makes our journey in life more worthwhile.
Of course, I can’t swim with my baby beside me. Fortunately, Ate Bam was there to take care of him. There was no room at the clubhouse but the weather was cool enough for them to stay at the van.
To while the time, they tool loads of pictures!
When I came back he was already sleeping peacefully. He must have gotten tired of posing for all those pictures. LOL!
One of the benefits of being a work-at-home mom is you can go on vacation without your boss breathing down your neck every time you ask permission to go on a leave. So when our couple friend invited us to go to Tagaytay for a birthday celebration I immediately said yes.
We celebrated our friend’s birthday in the clubhouse of an exclusive village near the peak of Tagaytay. The hosts packed lots of food. After a heavy lunch I was about ready to sleep.
But the pool was so inviting that even though I forgot to bring extra clothes for swimming I asked my husband to buy me some in the nearest market. I’m glad I didn’t let this chance pass by to swim because the pool was so clean and doesn’t reek of chlorine. We swam non-stop for hours. It was a break that my tired body really needed.
We were sad to bid goodbye at the end of the day but if we have another chance to visit this place we will surely jump at it.
