What I love about me, financially? ...

Girls Talk

So I was saying to myself, enough of the laziness and the stalking where I just read all the posts but never join! So here I am finding myself joining GT once again. I hope I’m still welcome. hihi!

Today’s topic is, “What I love about me, financially?” Well, I didn’t know I was frugal until I had my own family. Saving, that’s my hobby! hehe I think I got it from my Dad because he’s a saver too. Now, don’t go on imagining I have this huge stash of money holed up somewhere because I don’t.  In theory, I want to save every single penny I earn but in reality I realized it’s kind of stupid.   It’s impractical and impossible and if I die today I won’t be able to take it with me to my grave, right?

So now I’m not only frugal but I’m also a giver.  First, we give 10% of our combined income back to the Lord through our Church.  It was not easy at first but considering that God gave us everything we own (we’re just the industrial partner but he gave all the capital. *wink) and he’s just requiring 10% of it to be given back I think that’s not a bad deal, right?

Second, I’m generous and can make “pautang” to people I have seen only once before and who I consider to really need the money badly.  It doesn’t matter if they return it because once I give it I consider it as good as gone.

Third, I’m frugal but when it comes to bills I want to give all my money away.  I hate bills.  The thing I hate most is monthly bills!  If only I can do away with our electric, water, cable, internet bills and pay it in full for the whole year I would! hehe   But I’m glad we’re not paying rent anymore since we moved to hubby’s childhood home.  yipee!  Nevermind that the house is old as long as it’s free. haha

So if I don’t like monthly bills you can imagine how I feel about debt.  I don’t like those installment schemes where you can buy now and pay everything the rest of the year.  My motto is, “If you can’t pay for it in full now then you can’t afford it.”  Yes, we always pay everything in full and maybe that’ the reason why we don’t buy much. LOL!

So that’s all about me, financially.  I hope I didn’t freak you out that much. hehe

Tuition Fee Where Are You? ...

We are indeed taking our sweet time in enrolling Z.  Before by this time we already had his tuition ready but now all the extra expenses we had in moving have taken it’s toll on our pockets and we are still waiting for some money to arrive so we can pay his tuition.  If last year we paid his tuition in full, this year we’re only paying half of it.  I’m not comfortable paying anything in installments.  I always want to pay everything in full so this is really making me sad.  The good news is we’re not paying that big of an interest for not paying the tuition in full so I guess it’s okay.
