The Benefits of Wind Deflectors ...

Our car is parked in an uncovered parking lot that’s why it can get really hot.  My husband complains all the time that it’s too hot when he goes inside for the first time.  My mom advised that we put a small exhaust fan between the windows and the wind deflectors so that the air would circulate even when not in use.  I told her sadly, we have no wind deflectors.

Wind deflectors are attached to the windows and it’s purpose is to keep the occupants well-ventilated while at the same time protecting them from debris.  The car is susceptible to damage from debris especially when it’s moving at high speeds.  At such speeds a small rock or sand can have significant damage to the car causing dents, chipped paint, and even cracked windshields.  Once the metal is exposed, corrosion can follow which can be costly to repair.

Aside from that, deflectors also reduce air conditioning use as it allows the occupants to open their windows without the risk of snow, rain, and excessive wind entering through the window.

Because the benefits of the wind deflectors outweigh it’s cost I would suggest to hubby that we buy one for our car.  Fortunately, this can be bought easily from well known auto parts shops and even your car dealer.  It comes in different sizes that would fit different car models so we’ll make sure to choose one that fits our car.
