Work-at-Home Mom in the Philippines. That’s what “WAHM sa Pinas” means. I’m so happy being able to work at home and earn while watching my son grow up so that’s why I decided to put up this blog.
Being a Work-at-Home Mom in the Philippines is definitely not easy. Finding work can be difficult because unlike in the US where telecommuting is already quite a norm, in our country there are only a handful of companies that offer telecommuting jobs. Although it’s not a slice of cake finding homebased jobs from Philippine-based companies we are still fortunate because the internet allowed us to seek for work opportunities from other countries.
I have not always been a Work-at-Home Mom. I was a call center agent three years ago but I quit because I felt it was not right for a mother to leave his son with the care of someone else. That has been always my opinion since the beginning that’s why I resigned from work when I was about to give birth to my son. I took care of him from birth but when he was 10 months old I was forced to go back to work because of financial constraints. Working away from home was not easy and I was constantly racked with guilt every time he cries when I’m about to go to work. I blamed myself for being weak and not being able to balance my work and my family just like every mother I know so I refused to give up my work.
Then something happened that made me realize my son needed me and me alone and not a yaya to raise him. A year after I started working again he got hospitalized for pneumonia. He has never been sickly and never got sick the entire time I was taking care of him. He was confined for a week while I still continued working. Then a month later we went back to the doctor and was told that he was in the danger of getting hospitalized again. That was when I decided to give up my work once and for all.
Working-at-home became a dream a year after being a stay-at-home mom. I was happy being with my son all the time but my mind crave for mental stimulation. Of course, we also could use the extra money to spend at home. I wanted to find work through the internet but I personally didn’t know anyone back then actually working at home and earning a decent income. Then last March 2008 with the blessing of my husband we had internet installed in our home and I started looking for an online job.
I thank God for that day because now I’m a happy WAHM! I get to experience the best of both worlds – earning while staying at home and being there whenever my husband or my son needed me. Life is not perfect as there is still the constant balancing act that I need to do every day but it can never dampen the fact that I was able to achieve my dream. Yes, being a WAHM is my dream job and as long as there are opportunities for mothers like me I would forever be this way.

hello Paula, yes this is Chris from The Mommy Journey and Chris Chronicles

I salute WAHMs like you!
What work do you do at home?
March 25th, 2010 at 5:20 am
If only Wahms get bonuses, hmo’s, car & housing benefits also
But, as a mom, I know being with a growing boy is enough at the time he needs you. Truly, as Hannah Montana says, you’ve got the best of both worlds Mommy Paula!
More power to you, your blogs and to your family’s journey in life
Saw this link from your other blog.

Hi, Paula!
I found you through Truly Rich Mom. I am so glad I did!
I am a recent WAHM mom. I quit my 9 to 5 job a few months after I had my first child. Having a baby changed everything indeed. Before resigning, I was already doing freelance work online. When I saw that it would be possible to work from home, take care of and breastfeed my son, and also manage my own time, I grabbed the opportunity. So far, it has been one of the best life-altering decisions I made (I actually blogged about this on my site)
I look forward to following you through your blog. You’ve got some gems here! God bless you!
Sincerely,
Martine

Hi Paula!
Thanks again for accepting me as a BC Blogger!
God bless all your endeavors as you seek to give your family the BEST God has to offer. I was just wondering if you and your hubby are interested to attend a Financial Literacy seminar series (3 seminars all in all) conducted by the IMG Wealth Academy ALL for FREE.. Hubby and I recently attended (January 2010) and it’s been a HUGE blessing to us! We learned a lot about managing our finances, investing in the right places, and making our money work for us. It’s not a scam and is 100% legit. And FREE!
E-mail me if you’re interested ok?
Mommy Martine!
Hi! It’s nice to know that you found Mommy Paula through my blog. Please feel free to follow my blog as well

Hi! what type of at home jobs do you do? could i give it a try?
I am 32, a breadwinner and a diabetic; and is about 5months pregnant. My fiance is a seafarer and the idea of working at home is very appealing. I just want to choose something that is not bogus since i did try to write for certain sites given to me by my friends.
I’d really want to save better and prepare for my child when he/she comes out. I already had a miscarriage and given my medical condition always puts me at the high risk level.
Hope I can hear from you soon.
Thank you and more power!

Hi Ms Paula,I’m just a newbie, first timer at this,I’ve been a housewife and a stay home mom my life, that i may say yet I never regreted being as such. Always being with my son and taking gud care of him was a blessing but it was not quite fullfilling, maybe given the chance to be able to give and provide a child the very BEST, I believe it is a fullfillment for a mother like us. Landing at your site was not just a coincidence, it was a blessing not just to me but with all the others.with all the sentiments, many were inspired and hopeful.will continue to follow your site for more inspiration, hopes and maybe find ways through you on how to become a WAHM.hope you could share some sites where to find a legit or genuine work or on line jobs for mom like us…thank you very much more power and keep on inspiring…God bless

Good day! I just read your blog. for more than six months now, I am a work from home mom. I have a 4-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son and my husband looks after them. Working from home is definitely what I wanted. I get to see my family everyday and I am not required to commute and be tired when I get home.
I’ve been writing since I graduated from college, and I only began my online job this February. I can say that I am very blessed to have found this job (ebook writing) which pays well. I also have a blog but it’s not finished yet, but I’d be delighted to read more of your articles. More power!

Good day!!! I’m 7months pregnant on my first baby and looking for a work from home job. I already quit for my job due to pregnancy complications. I saw you blog and got really interested on how I can join. please pm me..thank you so much and more power.

Hi Paula,
Just trying to browse, after reading a “work at home online add” , and luckily found your blog after looking for certain Alina Cruz, who was able to do it successfully here in the Philippines.
I do not want to use my credit card to purchase a kit but prefer paypal, but paypal was not one of their choice of payment. On second thought, I want to really be sure on what i am about to enter to..” working on line”.
I just want to know if this is the same site you are working to right now? If not, will you let me know the site and be a channel of blessing to me and my family needs? Thanks in advance and hoping that you will enlighthen me on this work on line thing. God bless!!

August 27th, 2012 at 10:10 pm
I’m a working mom and wife as well, but would prefer if i could help my husband with the financial expenses and be a hands-on mom at the same time.
Becoming a WAHM will definitely help me attain this. I hope you can give me tips on where to look for legitimate work from home options.
We have a 7 yr old girl and a 1 yr old boy and I would prefer to be at home because I don’t want to have to rely on the nanny at all times. My kids need their real parents. Since my husband works in the military service, it’s best if I can stay at home and be there for them.
